Yuradneprov Posted December 7, 2019 Report Posted December 7, 2019 Hey there can someone translate this for me.. Quote
Stephen Posted December 8, 2019 Report Posted December 8, 2019 Quite a bit to ask for. Do you want just the smith? Quote
Yuradneprov Posted December 8, 2019 Author Report Posted December 8, 2019 Yes I know it's a lot of translating. Is that what it says Mino kuni kaneuji? Was wondering if it says anything important. Quote
Surfson Posted December 8, 2019 Report Posted December 8, 2019 Next group says mumei and gives the length Quote
Surfson Posted December 8, 2019 Report Posted December 8, 2019 Next two lines are about the sword and the appraisal. I can pick out Honami on the right side, so it is claiming to be an appraisal by one of the Honami I suppose. Quote
Surfson Posted December 8, 2019 Report Posted December 8, 2019 On the other side are some dates and some text about the lineage of the maker, as far as I can tell by skimming it. Quote
Yuradneprov Posted December 8, 2019 Author Report Posted December 8, 2019 Thank you. Does it have any significance? Quote
SteveM Posted December 8, 2019 Report Posted December 8, 2019 Yes, as Robert says, "Mumei, Mino-no-kuni Kaneuji". As for the rest, well it doesn't say it was owned by the emperor, or anything like that, but its all significant to somebody. Says it was owned (or, at least "worn") by this guy https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nait%C5%8D_Nobuchika 2 Quote
Yuradneprov Posted December 10, 2019 Author Report Posted December 10, 2019 Interesting, when the katana is polished I'll put some pics up. Quote
