Hello everyone, I have been looking at a set of blades for a friend, and one of his signatures doesn't appear like traditional kanji script. I'm expecting it to be gimei based on the other pieces he has. If anyone can give me pointers on this blade, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks very much.

I can make out NOSHU SEKI JU KANE ??? SAKU   chippy style of writing was not unusual in showa swords, and this looks showato to me. A better photo on the second to last kanji may help.

     Hope this helps, Tom M.

濃州関住兼

Noshu seki ju Kanetoshi saku is my guess

As the posters above mention, this type of writing is not unusual on WW2 blades. I wouldn't suspect it is gimei.
