Harry Posted April 29, 2019 Report Posted April 29, 2019 I see lots of Japanese knives that are sold with a paper similar to the attached. It does not resemble the NTHK papers or any others that I have seen. Does anyone know if this is a judgement paper, and if so which organization issued it? TIA! Harry Quote
Ray Singer Posted April 29, 2019 Report Posted April 29, 2019 Looks like a torokusho (registration license) for a mumei wakizashi of 44.5cm in length. This is not any type of appraisal document / kanteisho from a sword-related organization like the NBTHK or NTHK. 1 Quote
16k Posted April 29, 2019 Report Posted April 29, 2019 To complete what Ray said, they’re like the ID papers of a sword in Japan. Every sword has to be registered. It just gives basic, unverified info on the sword associated with it. 1 Quote
