However, the works signed "KANEIYE DE FUSHIMI" date for most of the seventeenth and nineteenth centuries. The most recent guards have shown bas-relief Chinese landscapes with occasional touches of gold and copper. KANEIYE is the "MASAMUNE" of TSUBA. He worked from the end of MUROMACHI to MOMOYAMA. His peaceful and restful work began to be praised during the EDO period. He was inspired by the styles of MOKKEI, Chinese painter, and SESSHIU, Japanese painter, both active in the 15th century. His guards are remarkable thanks to brown iron blushing nicely weathered, that NOBUIYE will never equal. They are also very finely hammered and have a soft and malleable appearance. He was the first artist to create relief landscapes with iron, with motifs based on Chinese scenes, flowers, birds and other animals. Its high reliefs were made in sometimes excessive inlays. His best work is bas-relief. Its incrustations are moderate but of the best effect. length: 72 mm width: 66 mm the thickness; 5 mm weight; 116 gr.
