LittleMountain Posted December 30, 2018 Report Posted December 30, 2018 Hello I am looking for info on this blade. as a novice I know nothing , but it spoke to me . So its mine I thoroughly love looking at it . The man I bought it from is in Japan but I received very little info on it. Looking for your help. Sorry for the bad pic's ...just taking a pic is a chore they never look right Thankx John N Quote
Ray Singer Posted December 30, 2018 Report Posted December 30, 2018 Appears at first glance to be a shinshinto blade. The overly pronounced jihada made of mixed steel (with harder layers strongly visible within the forging) is often seen from that time period. My impression is that this is a later blade made to emulate an o-suriage koto. Quote
LittleMountain Posted December 31, 2018 Author Report Posted December 31, 2018 Thank you Ray for your Info and time. is something like this worth shinsa ? maybe just for the info from the shinsa? All are welcome Quote
Ray Singer Posted December 31, 2018 Report Posted December 31, 2018 I would send to shinsa if mine, even if it is a mumei utushi of an earlier sword. I like this one very much. Congrats on the purchase. Quote
