Ray Singer Posted May 1, 2018 Report Posted May 1, 2018 Listing a long katana attributed to Musashi Daijo Korekazu in an absolutely wonderful, original Higo koshirae. This smith was the first generation of the Ishido Korekazu lineage and worked in early Edo. He was a famous smith and was rated jo-saku in Fujishiro. As expected from one of the top Ishido smiths, this sword exhibits a beautiful, wild choji hamon with tremendous activity, running above with midare utsuri. Jitetsu is a very beautiful itame with chikei and thickly layered with chikei. The blade is long, wide, healthy and absolutely flawless. The nagasa is 71.2cm. Moto-haba is 32mm. Kasane is 6mm. The blade comes with NTHK kanteisho. In shirasaya with a nice gold foil habaki.Aside from being a great blade, what makes this very special is the beautiful Higo koshirae that comes with this sword. The fuchigashira is fine work in shibuichi. Menuki are shakudo taiko drums. Tsuba is a very thin one (2mm) in I believe namako sukashi with karakusa in gold along the edge. There is also an. Iron kojiri. Lacquer is in fairly good condition, but there are some small losses which are shown and one area of repair. This sword also comes with NTHK kanteisho.Spectacular piece which is guaranteed thrill whoever purchases it. SOLD. Any questions, please email raymondsinger@gmail.com. 1 Quote
