Hello Everyone,

Been awhile. Hope everyone is doing well.

I just received permission to add the photos of the pommel.

This may be one of the most important items ever listed here on the site...maybe ;)

Greg,

honestly speaking- such is a nice item to own ( if ? there is interest for such to own ).

but!

such pommels or knobs are rather continuously and regularely to find.

Christie´s did just offer one this year ( if i am right ? unsold due to their´s much too high given estimation price which was 2 K Pounds to 3 K Pounds ).

Nagel did offer a whole set some auctions ago...and Hermann Historica did equally offer such in past....

https://www.hermann-historica.de/

quite every serious old collection in private hand does least include one equally....

so, these are certainly nice and " relatively" rare- but not that rare equally....

Remarkable complex construction, not just one piece.
What metals involved?
State of preservation is also very good. Is this privately owned or in a museum?

I think I am interested in this discussion, but I feel like I am missing something. What are we looking at? What is this history of this object? What can we contribute to the discussion? And is this a legal acquired item?
