Grey Doffin Posted August 26, 2017 Report Posted August 26, 2017 Hi guys, This book title may be Yanagimura Senju: Heisei no Tomi Horimono, but then again I'm probably wrong. Would someone please give me the proper Romanji? And what does it mean? Thanks, Grey Quote
John A Stuart Posted August 26, 2017 Report Posted August 26, 2017 Yes, 柳村 仙寿 Yanagimura Senju 平成 の 刀身彫刻 Heisei no Toushin Chyokoku, Sword Engravings of the Heisei era. John 3 Quote
Bugyotsuji Posted June 29, 2019 Report Posted June 29, 2019 Yanagimura Senju 柳村仙寿 was a sword artisan, known mostly (but not exclusively) for his 彫物 horimono blade carvings, and ran a workshop with disciples for many years in Okayama. The book illustrated above shows a lifetime of his work. Sadly I allowed someone to have the sole copy that I had. Many of his former students became independent successful artisans in their own right and can be found here and there throughout the area. He died in 2018, leaving a son, 宗寿 Soju, who has taken over his work. 1 Quote
