Polaris Posted January 6, 2016 Report Posted January 6, 2016 I am hoping someone fluent in Japanese would have better luck at reading this faint mei. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I am very new to collecting Japanese swords, and this is one of my first swords. It should have been made during the Koto period if that helps. ROKUJURO Posted January 6, 2016 Report Posted January 6, 2016 Polaris,I think I can see a SHU (second KANJI) and a KANE for the name, but it's far from safe! You can try with light from the side or direct light plus talcum powder, but if this does not produce better results, maybe a specialized institute can x-ray it.Please sign all your posts with your real first name plus an initial as is the rule here. SAS Posted January 6, 2016 Report Posted January 6, 2016 I tried hard, now i am blind......I think you will have to submit for shinsa to have any chance of knowing who made this.....unless there is a high tech way using radiography or something....how about pictures of the blade? Quote
