Shamsy Posted June 2, 2015 Report Posted June 2, 2015 Hello there, I searched the topics for a thread concerning Japanese military sword books but couldn't find anything currrent or quite what I was after. I currently have the two quintessential (IMHO) books by Fuller and Gregory: Military Swords of Japan 1868-1945 Japanese Military and Civil Swords and Dirks Are there other books along similar lines that are worth having? I have re-read those several times and would like more reading material. I'd like to stick to military theme, more reference than narrative (though both work). Quote
Grey Doffin Posted June 2, 2015 Report Posted June 2, 2015 Shamsy, I can recommend Jim Dawson's Swords of Imperial Japan 1868 - 1945 Cyclopedia Edition and Tom Kishida's The Yasukuni Swords: Rare Weapons of Japan 1933 - 1945. Herman Wallinga's book on Minatogawa Shrine swords also is worth the read. You will find all 3 of these titles on my website: japaneseswordbooksandtsuba.com, if you'd like to see what they look like.
