Help with Mei translation X 2 and any info

Hi,

I purchased 2 swords and would appreciate help with the mei translation and also the tag attached to the saya translation. I can see one has a showa stamp but that is the end of my knowledge :D look forward to any input. I can add photos of the hamon and blade tip if that would help or anyone interested in seeing. THX

I think. So small I can barely see though.

 

 

Sword #1 which follows #2, front side I think is:

 

? 9 nen 12 ?

 

Be guessing it to be Showa 9 nen 12 gatsu. Again, need microscope.

 

Can't read the back side.

OK, de-inverting, I can't be much more help... gendai mei I find pretty hard to read. When Nobody wakes up and checks the board I'm sure he will clear these up for you.

昭和十九年十二月 (Showa ju-ku nen ju-ni gatsu)

12th month of Showa 19th yr (Dec. 1944)

 

Sword # 1 back side (actually front side):

兼茂 (Kaneshige)

 

Sword # 2:

濃州三品義昭作之 (Noshu Mishina Yoshiaki saku kore)

Mishina Yoshiaki (三品義昭) in Noshu made this.

 

Sword # 2 saya tag:

茨城県真壁郡嘉田生崎村（Ibaraki-ken, Makabe-gun, Kataozaki-mura,）

大字西榎生四十五番地（Oaza Nishiyono 45）

Thank you so much for the translation. Would anyone know if these swords were made traditionaly or just machine blades?

With the Showa stamp, blade 2 would almost certainly (with very rare exceptions) be partly machine made, and non-traditional.

Blade 1 seems to have a stamp on upper left, but can't make it out.

I suspect it will also be a non-traditional blade, but we need more info to make a better assumption.
