What do you call this? Wakizashi with hole in the blade.

A chip in the edge is called a hakobori. The area looks to be rusty perhaps a drop of blood or something else ate a hole in the edge. Ana is the general term for a hole as in mekugiana.

Thanks Barry. The seller said first thing there was a hole in the blade. It's just such a perfectly round hole through the hamon. The drop of blood makes sense.

It most likely wasn't caused by blood. It looks like an inclusion that opened, either during heat treatment or polishing. slag inclusions, or other small particles can be trapped during forging. Sometimes when they are brought to heat, if they are very near the surface, they can pop open. Or polish open...
