Alkinos Posted April 12, 2014 Report Posted April 12, 2014 Hi everyone, I've come across this paper and I would like to know what it is and what it says. I think that it's from the NTHK but other than that I don't know. Any help is greatly apreciated. Thanks, Antoine Edit: Haha, Indeed I forgot. -Added picture- Quote
Grey Doffin Posted April 12, 2014 Report Posted April 12, 2014 Either it's a paper for a Ninja sword or you forgot to add the picture. Grey Quote

Alkinos Posted April 12, 2014 Author Report Posted April 12, 2014 Here are the picture of the Sword with this paper. I knew its written seki ju kanenobu, but a sell tag, really? Quote
Pete Klein Posted April 12, 2014 Report Posted April 12, 2014 Looks like a shinsa submission tag for a wakizashi from the Nihon Token Hozon Kai (bottom left kanji). The red stamp '合格' says passed. Quote
Alkinos Posted April 12, 2014 Author Report Posted April 12, 2014 Nice! I tought so, I had compared the Kanji from an official NTHK document. Domo arigato gozaimasu. Does anyone know if it's possible to get an official certificate from NTHK with this tag? If not, what is the procedure to get a certificate from either NTHK or NBTHK? (time to get appraisal, Price, effect on value) This nihonto is mine, it was given to me and I would really like to know everything there is to know about it! Thank you everyone for your help. Pete Klein Posted April 13, 2014 Report Posted April 13, 2014 Contact the NTHK and ask them. PS: where do you reside? (USA, Europe, etc.) Quote
cabowen Posted April 13, 2014 Report Posted April 13, 2014 It's the shinsa submission tag. It passed the NTHK shinsa. Check with the former owner to see if he has the origami somewhere. If not, you can contact the NTHK, send them a copy of the tag, and for a fee, they should reissue the origami. I am not sure if this is the Yoshikawa or NPO NTHK. Ask the prior owner. If it is the NPO, I can forward a copy of the tag for you and ask about a reissue. Let me know. Quote
Alkinos Posted April 13, 2014 Author Report Posted April 13, 2014 To pete: I wanted to know if anyone had prior knowledge about shinsa that could be useful. I live in canada To Chris: The last known owner does not own the certificate. And I've contacted him to know wich NTHK he has submitted. I'll post the result as soon as I get the answer. Thanks! Pete Klein Posted April 13, 2014 Report Posted April 13, 2014 If it's the Yoshikawa organization Tom Helm might be able to answer your questions. He is a member here. As you reside in Canada you could always re-submit it at the next shinsa here in the states but there probably won't be one for awhile. Otherwise, it would have to go to Japan. The NBTHK has five sword shinsas each year and you could submit through an agent. Quote

Ok, just let me know. If it is the NTHK-NPO, I can help. Quote
