Robert Housley Posted March 2, 2014 Report Posted March 2, 2014 I was unable to attend the Tampa show and it sounds like I missed a good one. I planned on going, but I disabled myself with a shovel and some ice and missed a week of work. Didn't think the boss would be happy if I left for another weekend! I am in Cincinnati, Ohio and can easily make the drive to Chicago. Tampa was to be my very first show. I really have not heard much about the Chicago show and was wondering what to expect. Will it be on a par with Tampa? Any info from those who have attended these shows would be of great help. Thanks, Robert H. Quote
Grey Doffin Posted March 2, 2014 Report Posted March 2, 2014 Hi Robert, Chicago will have fewer tables than Tampa but still will be a great show. Mark Jones runs the show with his wife and son and they do an excellent job. If it's an easy drive then it's a no brainer; you want to be there. Full disclosure: Mark is a close friend and we always share tables at sword shows. Even if that weren't true I'd still be there and it isn't an easy drive for me. Grey Quote
Robert Housley Posted March 2, 2014 Author Report Posted March 2, 2014 Thanks for the advice. Robert H. Quote
Jamie Posted March 2, 2014 Report Posted March 2, 2014 Robert, You should go to the show. It's immeasurable in your studies. You'll see so many fine swords in one place. Quote
Mark Posted March 2, 2014 Report Posted March 2, 2014 please check http://www.chicagoswordshow.com there are links to the hotel to get the show rate and maps etc. It should be a great show. There are a number of people who are coming this year who have not been present for several years. There will be some nice displays. The is much more early demand for tables and I have to take a close look as I may be getting close to being full. Quote
