Brian Posted September 24, 2013 Report Posted September 24, 2013 Scary. Real scary. Because at that price..they aren't going to be used just as a display item..they are going to be used as the real thing no doubt. This just hit the German militaria level, where you cannot tell the difference and lots of people abandoned that particular field of collecting. Age this a bit (not hard) and you can fool pretty much anyone. Brian Quote
w.y.chan Posted September 24, 2013 Report Posted September 24, 2013 I don't collect gunto koshirae but does anyone know if the original WW2 tassels are made of natural or synthetic material? If the wartime ones are natural materials and these ones on ebay are synthetic then a simple UV light will confirm. Quote
Brian Posted November 30, 2013 Report Posted November 30, 2013 http://www.ebay.com/itm/ARMY-red-Brown- ... 19e5c3ed6b At this point, I wouldn't even buy a tassel unless I knew the seller or it had provenance. It would be sooo easy to age these, dirty them and sell for a profit. I bet there are lots out there already like this. Like German mlitaria...when the repros get too close to the real thing, some stop collecting. Brian Quote
