Surfson Posted September 14, 2013 Report Posted September 14, 2013 I have to admit that I have bought a few that had identification cards on them and wondered about doing this.... The most amazing example that I know of is when Walter Compton returned a Kunimune national treasure blade. I think that he became an instant celebrity in Japan! Quote

I have heard repeatedly that the profits his company received for importing rights in return more than made up for it....Heard of Alka Seltzer and Miles Labs? Quote
Alex A Posted September 15, 2013 Report Posted September 15, 2013 A gent. Stories like this often get me thinking about the famous missing Honjo Masamune blade. Alex. Quote
Brian Posted September 15, 2013 Report Posted September 15, 2013 I assume someone has checked it is not a Showato and it can actually be returned. Brian Quote
Geoffrey Posted September 16, 2013 Report Posted September 16, 2013 I was given a Japanese sword which was owned by my wife's uncle Sir George Jones . He was head of the Australian Air Force during WW11 . It had a cloth tag with the owners name etc , I did trace the owner in Japan but he died before I could get the sword to him . I asked his son if he wanted it ? He answered that I could put it , we're I sit . So I think there were some bad feelings still. It was made by Kaneiwa 1700's Thanks Geoffrey F Quote
