Henry Wilson Posted June 7, 2007 Report Posted June 7, 2007 Can anyone help me with this tsuba? http://www.finesword.co.jp/sale/kodougu/htm/0704/614/614.htm The best I can do with the mei is 栄寿 translates to Eiju and the only reference to such a person is from the Akasaka line (Yondai mon). I think I am wrong and any help or comments would be greatly appreciated. Quote
Nobody Posted June 7, 2007 Report Posted June 7, 2007 There are some explanations about Seiryuken Eiju on the following web pages. They are written in Japanese, but I think that you have a personal translater. http://nihontou.jp/choice03/tousougu/tu ... 72/172.htm http://auction.jp.msn.com/item/78020096 Quote
Brian Posted June 7, 2007 Report Posted June 7, 2007 Henry, How about searching our own forum here for info :D We are building up a nice mine of info here going back a while now. Try this: http://militaria.co.za/nihontomessagebo ... light=eiju Take a look at the second pic posted by Mikolaj (Yogoro) Has clear similarities to the one you posted. My Eiju is not great condition, but the iron looks good quality. There was a Seiryuken Eiju tsuba that closed recently on eBay..I think it went for around $550, and was his typical dragon theme. Regards, Brian Quote
