Drago Posted January 31, 2013 Report Posted January 31, 2013 Hi, can someone please tell me what this Tsukamaki stlye is called and how it is made? http://www.ebay.com/itm/230918857367 That example might not be the best example though... It looks kind of like rubber, but of course it isn't. And do you know how sturdy it is compared to the usual silk/cotton ito? Thanks. Quote

Drago Posted February 1, 2013 Author Report Posted February 1, 2013 Ah, it seems I asked the wrong question. I meant the ito itself. Is that lacquered ito, leather, rubber or what? And how is that done? (Thanks anyway, Malcolm) Quote

John A Stuart Posted February 1, 2013 Report Posted February 1, 2013 I have an old tsuka with this material and quite degraded. It looks like a lacquered fabric in my case. John Quote

Dr Fox Posted February 1, 2013 Report Posted February 1, 2013 Malcolm The answer is in the sale description. (The Tsuka is in great condition and the Tsuka-ito is made from leather,) Denis. Quote
