Delete My account. I came here to learn about Katana's, etc. Not for some idiot(s) to worry about My personal details like a Stalker. So yeah, delete My account

Tamahagane (玉鋼) Been researching this metal for a while and something that keeps comming up is that the majority of the Tamahagane produced today comes from one place that is the Nittoho Tatara in Okuizumo, Shimane Prefecture. I live in a mining town and know every mine has metals of varying composition. The question is: If most Japanese Swordsmiths get their steel from one place isn't that going to make future blades somewhat generic? It would be like if every restaurant in the World obtained menu items from only one food supplier. What do You all think about this? Cheers

I had to drill out a Mekugi a while back cause it seem too stuck compared to the other which came out easy with a few taps. I got these to replace it. Mekugi Pegs for Standard Tsuka - Pack of 4

Buyee is weird at times. Been ordering regularly almost for about 2 years. Sometimes some items aren't allowed and yet the same type item from another Buyee vendor is allowed. I've had this issue with JNats and Tamahagane. -
Just looked at that AoiJapan website and I like this one. If only I had the spare money to get it. That Hamon is nice. https://www.aoijapan.com/katanaminamoto-moriyoshi-mukansa-swordsmith-nbthk-tokubetsu-hozon-token/

Nice video. -
Yes, taking pics of blade steel is hard. Most of My pics are ruined by dreaded light reflection causing a Sun effect. As for the Sword above the Hamon is very visible.
-
Most blades probably saw use at one time or another.

I will say Canadian Customs is weird at times. I've purchased the same type of items fom Japan (mostly JNats) almost monthly for almost 2 years from the same vendor. Sometimes, I've had to pay no Import Fee despite most times I did despite of the value of the items. -

I only have the pdf version of The Craft of the Japanese Sword and some information in either book isn't present in the other so I'll get the hardcover version of The Craft of the Japanese Sword someday cause pdf files are not convenients at times.

Thus far, I only have a custom made Bokken, an Iaito and a Paul Chen/Hanwei Katana. So just need a proper Japanese blade or two to round out My collection. -
