    Hi Paul, Thanks for your in depth reply. I think I can see the masame but only when I get the sword in the right light and angle, something I've not managed to photograph yet. It took me a coupe of hours to get these pics :lol: If I manage to get a decent pic, I will post. I know you dont do the Birmingham arms fair but I will have the sword there in September.     Hi Everyone, Below are two pictures of my 23rd Gen Kanefusa. I've had this sword for a while now and am still trying to work out if it's traditional or not. Mei is: Seki no Ju Ni Ju san dai kanefusa saku kore with no stamps at all. I believe I can see itame/masame mix in the hada, sunagashi, nie and a hakikake boshi. Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks Mark C

    Thank you Guys, researching Kansho, I find it's a period between 1460 and 1466 although the Kan Kanji is very different. I will try and get some good pictures of the blade today. Again Thanks Mark C

    Hi Chris, If you can make the Birmingham Arms fair at the motorcycle museum on Feb 13th, some of the people mentioned above will be there if you want to show your sword to someone. The Northern Token Society has a table at the fair as well. Regards Mark C

    Hi Lionel, Yes Chris (medalsandmilitaria) is still trading but as mentioned , is having trouble with his website. Chris is the organiser of the Show at the motorcycle museum and also has a shop in Warwick. As Peter has said, Bill and Peter are OK If possible, come to the show in September Regards Mark

    Hi, Last time I spoke to Chris his website provider was mucking him about and his shop is very small so probably not ideal for a large number of swords. He does however usually have 40+ swords at the Motorcycle museum show also Bill Tagg has a large selection. Regards Mark

    Hi Lionel, Brian has named most of them. Three of the above usually attend the International Arms fair at the Motorcycle museum next to the NEC, Birmingham. I think the next fair is in September plus it coincides with the annual country wide meeting of the Northern Token Society. Regards Mark

    Hi Barry, No koshirae with the sword, if fact the sword is in a sorry state being the lower half of a katana and basically worthless. As you can see from the pic it has been well butchered with a grinder or something, Still I only paid £20 for it as a mei translation excercise. All the best Mark
