  2. And I was wandering why the signature on the first tsuba is so long:) And with kao on the other side. Now it make more sense:) Thank you guys.
  3. Hello, Need some help with reading those two signatures. Thank you in advance. Krystian
  4. Thank you Curran. On color pictures you can see very well that this is not Sahari on my tsuba.
  5. Hello, I found tsuba with inlay like I never seen before. After going through my books I found just few similar examples (with Sahari in desription). But the book is black a white so I am not certain if this is the same thing... Best Regards, Krystian
  6. Forgot to click "attach":)

  8. Thank you.
  9. Hello, Could you help me with reading mei of this blade? Thank you in advance. Regards, Krystian
  10. Hi, I have this Sanbaso/Okina tsuba and no idea who made it. I found that Goto and Yanagawa made designs with this motive. But did not manage to find anything similar of theirs. So could you help me with attribution of this tsuba? Best Regards, Krystian
  11. Thank you Ian. When you know the story and other pieces that show it, it becomes obvious that It is a snake:)
  12. Hi, Do you know the story shown on this menuki? If my eyes are correct you can see a samurai killing a daemon and a swan in the background. Regards, Krystian
  13. Hi, Could you help me with reading this origami? Thank you in advance. Krystian
  14. For a bit there I thought you might be right Chris:) But the main difference is that on the photo there is sekigane on the mune side. But right now there is no sekigane there, but there is a new one on the blade side. There is also some inlay missing. The only thing I don't get is the grass. It looks different on the photo than in real life. On monday I will make new photos of the tsuba and picture and post it here.
  15. Hi, It looks the same to me. Apart of the moon reflection that is made of silver that was not cleaned for a long time:) Or are there any other differences that I missed? Regards, Krystian
  16. I am interested in all books about tosogu:) If you have something to trade I am happy to hear your offer.
  17. Hi, Best case scenario would be 575$, because I need that much for Toso Kodogu Koza by Wakayama:) Krystian
  18. Hi, One more from me. With NBTHK origami. Krystian
  19. I referred to Rokujuro joke about sending it to him so he can throw it away:) I bough It because It looks very nice. It is simple, elegant and in almost perfect condition. If It is real ko-kinko than it is another positive to add to the list. I just did not see many ko-kinko items in such a great shape. At least not for less than 100.000 JPY. Don't worry. I do not plan to make a set. Though I know who has matching menuki (also with ko-kinko NBTHK attribution)
  20. If I am going to send this away maybe I should add matching tsuba? I won't need It without fuchigashira:)
  21. Hi, I bought this fuchigashira for a very reasonable price. It is in perfect condition and with hozon origami. But the condition of this piece is so amazing for a 500 years old item that I just can't believe it. Do you think it is genuine ko-kinko? Best Regards, Krystian
  22. Thank you all for your comments. I learned a lot and found places to learn even more. Long way before me:)
  23. Peter, Christian do you think that it was cast, than someone perfectly removed all sings of it, than put fake patina, than boiled it in sodium and after that brushed? If someone put so much work in to it than I got it cheap:) That was a small joke. But for real. Could you tell me why you think it is a cast? I just can't see any indication of that...
  24. Thank you for taking part in this discussion. Each post helped me to understand this tsuba a bit more. I do not think that it was boiled though because there are some parts where original patina was left, particularly those places that are hardest to get into. I made an attempt to take pictures of them. There are also some pictures of places with brightest "silver" parts. So was it just steel sponge after all? Krystian
  25. Hello, I am sorry If my question is simple or the answer obvious but why this tsuba has so many places where you can see the "silver" color of metal instead of usual shades of black? I don't see any recent file marks and so on. Was in cleaned using chemicals or ultrasounds? Or it just aged like that? Best Regards, Krystian
