  1. Hi, are the yasuri higaki? if yes it's not an Echizen blade, maybe Naminohira.
  2. Hi, True, particularly, the ji Wara 原.
  3. Hi, Swords signed HOSODA HEIJIRÔ NAOMITSU exist. Oshigata of them can be found in the Fujishiro shinto hen and also in the shinshinto taikan by Iimura.
  4. Hi, I think you hit the nail on the head.
  5. Hi, Two Hochô Masamune (is it a third?) 33cm nagasa is a bit too long Masamune tanto nagasa are all under 30cm and mostly around 24/25cm.
  6. I don't think it is a good key.
  7. Hi, I checked my books and i would change my attitude about this mei; I think the right one is gimei. The square in the ji tetsu is always perfectly closed on shoshin mei. The upper oblique stroke in the ji Ko is always first engraved. It is not the case on the right mei.
  8. Hi, Accordin toko taikan there were several generations Yukihiro. Sandai Yukihiro is said signing this way but there is no oshigata.
  9. Hi, To my old eyes, the right mei is soshin ; it seems older and the atari in the left corner of the left stroke in the ji 道 is really different (too long in the left mei).

    Gimei

This is not about poor fakes. Kajibei was able to copy works of top-class ShinTo masters like KOTETSU, Tsuta SUKEHIRO and others on a supreme level. reinhard One of the most known gimei is one of Hikobeinojo Sukesada made by Koyama Munetsugu. I would come back to Ikkanshi Tadatsune. Checking my library i've noticed that the location of the mekugi-ana cannot be a kantei point contrary to what was said.

    Gimei

Hi, the right mei is definitely gimei, the left stroke in the "oka 岡" part of the ji Tsuna starts too high in regard of the horizontal stroke. This added to my preceding post.

    Gimei

Hi, I would say the right one is gimei. 1 - it is not perfectly centered on the shinogi as it should be, 2 - the kanji are a little bit too large.

    Deep or shallow ?

Hi, The depth of a sori is dependant on the length. a 2cm sori on a 60cm blade is deep, the same on a 80cm is shallow.
  15. Hi, Can you give us the measurements of this blade? For what i can see (or perceive) it seems being Bizen. Is the hamon clearly visible?
  16. Hi, Me too. But i don't dream, i'll never become a good draftsman
  17. Hi, Would not say that, If it can be *easy* to realize the nakago it is not the same thing to reliably draw the hamon and its hatakari. :?
  18. Hi, Two other oshigata of Munehiro (from Iimura Shinshinto taikan). As you can see they are not similar.

    Heirloom.

Hi Here is the list of Mayors and Lords mayors of Plymouth from 1900 to 2000.
  20. Hi, Can also be Bizen - Have to wait for the picture Or Bingo, But Fujiwara name is very uncommon on Bizen blades even on Shinto ones; that's also true for Bingo blades (excepted Sadaie and Masafusa).

    Aoki Motonaga

Hi, The oshigata shown in Fujishiro and Toko taikan are from the same blade, however in Fujishiro, it's about the shodai and in the Toko Taikan, about the nidai.
  22. Hi, Kanmuri-otoshi-zukuri is correct, kissaki-mohora-zukuri is with a partial second cutting-edge.

    Aoki Motonaga

Hi, Below an oshigata from the shodai. I don't think it's this one.
  24. Hi, To repair your tsuka (handle), you can make rice glue and fix it with (rice glue is traditionaly used to stick parts of shirasaya). http://www.wikihow.com/Make-Rice-Glue
  25. Hi, All Japanese art swords are nihon-tô, but all nihon-tô are not art sword. This is my opinion. :D
