  5. Sten , politely you need to clean off the oil on your blade if you want some comments back, all you see is oil residue all over the surface of the blade .

  8. Sorry but IMHO, a poor attempt at a re-wrap of the Tsuka .
  9. Oliver , the defects that have been mentioned ! i think refers to it looks like it has been over polished and in some shots you can see what maybe core steel showing through ??
  10. Hi Colin , I was sure you would spot these and give them an mention here Yes a lot of the tangs look artificially aged ,
  11. they look like the Spanish reproduction swords, that you seen in the tourist shops in Spain many years ago !!
  12. Sorry , but if it is listed at the Lanes Armourer ! there will be no bargains IMHO .
  13. Hi Alexander is an uchikatana sword, not more to do with the length of the sword blade ! more than what side of the tang it is signed on ?? or i have got this all wrong !
  14. HI George having a very quick look at them without any checking first one looks like Tadatsuna and the second looks like a Showa blade , but we would need better pictures of the tang of the second sword to be sure . just my twopence worth
  15. John , Mike Hickman-smith , can repair it and re laquear the saya, he is a member of the UK token society .
  16. Hi Ken , It is a Spanish made reproduction Japanese style dagger , i have seen many of them in Spain in souvenir shops over the years .
  17. Hi Colin , if not the auction houses words perhaps the wishfully thinking of the last owner , but either way , you are right some Idiots description .
  18. Hi Colin , I had a good giggle when i seen his numerous posts and descriptions
  19. Hi Luh . I hope you got the right saya with that sword when i looked at them in the auction room, the auction house !! had the Saya's mixed up as there were two navel swords in the auction ,presumably when they were photographing the tangs . i did change them back , but who knows who was handling them in the Auction , that politely did not know what saya was for the right blade .
  20. Do you mean Aberdeen / Scotland ? if so man years ago there was an antique dealer in Aberdeen that collected and sold Japanese swords , but i can't remember the name of the shop ! if you are interested join the UK Token society , they have reginal meetings in Scotland and there is usually swords etc. for sale by the members . good luck.
  21. Paul , sorry to be the first to comment on this blade , it looks like a Chinese attempt at making a Japanese blade IMHO , the main clue for me is the miss matched Muni-machi and Ha-Machi and the tang finish is poor shape etc.
  22. Johnathan , are these swords not all in a UK Auction this week, If so ? you will be very lucky to get them at the prices you are talking about , but you never know maybe be a luck bid or two , good luck
