Need help identifying this sword please

Having a hard time dating this sword. It is most likely made before WWII but whether it be Shinshinto period or as early as Nambokucho I can not say based on the present condition. Could anyone help me out with identifying the sword

Authentic blade in very poor condition. Appears to be koto, possibly before Muromachi and ubu. Note the slender nakago, patina (where it is intact) and the low placement of the mekugi-ana. Please do nothing on your own to remove the corrosion.
