Axxalon Posted May 14, 2012 Report Posted May 14, 2012 I believe this is some sort of Gunto. The person who gave it to me told me it was a world war II era military sword. It's got a wooden tsuka and saya with metal fittings, a wicked tanto tip, and a blade with all kinds of crazy flower designs on it. Pretty certain it's machine made. Anybody know what sort of sword this is, and what it means? Sorry for the poor resolution. My iphone is very outdated. Quote

Brian Posted May 15, 2012 Report Posted May 15, 2012 Yet another one. *sigh* This one is just about everything a genuine Nihonto isn't. Most fakes got past that terrible kissaki ages ago. Brian Quote
Lindus Posted May 15, 2012 Report Posted May 15, 2012 Saw a bundle recently, some with genuine gunto mounts, PLEASE folks ask here......or as I have done way back with the "Throat stabber...waki with the whole kissaki broken off" treat it as a steep learning curve. Roy Quote
