Deron Douglas Posted April 10, 2007 Report Posted April 10, 2007 Did I spell that right? Anyway, not sure where to post this. Does anyone have a recipe for "aging" same-kawa (ray skin) that they would like to share. I have a koto wak (next project) that I'll be mounting near the end of summer and what to try aging th same first. Thanks, Deron Quote
Stephen Posted April 10, 2007 Report Posted April 10, 2007 start with tea then work to coffee, very little at a time and you might want to let it dry between coats. Quote
Deron Douglas Posted April 10, 2007 Author Report Posted April 10, 2007 Hi Stephen, so it's that simple? It occurred to me, but I figured something more complex must be needed. Thanks. Quote
Rich S Posted April 10, 2007 Report Posted April 10, 2007 Since you've got to soak the same' to work with it anyway, you might try just soaking it in tea as you're getting ready to shape it. I haven't tried it, but seems like a reasonable thing to do. ??? Rich S Quote
