Same Kawa Skin

Did I spell that right? Anyway, not sure where to post this. Does anyone have a recipe for "aging" same-kawa (ray skin) that they would like to share. I have a koto wak (next project) that I'll be mounting near the end of summer and what to try aging th same first.

start with tea then work to coffee, very little at a time and you might want to let it dry between coats.

Since you've got to soak the same' to work with it anyway,

you might try just soaking it in tea as you're getting ready

to shape it. I haven't tried it, but seems like a reasonable

thing to do. ???
