NihontoEurope Posted November 24, 2011 Report Posted November 24, 2011 Hi all, I'm working on a Mei that I think is SHIZUYASU, but I'm uncertain. The topmost horizontal line at the 2nd Kanji is very disturbing to me and the first gives me a headache. /Martin Quote
Stegel Posted November 26, 2011 Report Posted November 26, 2011 Hi, I'm new here and trying to familiarise myself with translations, so i thought i'd give it a go... I agree with the second kanji being 泰 Yasu. I'm sorry the first one is giving me a harder time. I'll keep trying.. Regards Ernst Quote
NihontoEurope Posted November 27, 2011 Author Report Posted November 27, 2011 Ernst, Thank you for the effort. The second should be YASU. The first one is difficult. /Martin Quote
Bugyotsuji Posted November 27, 2011 Report Posted November 27, 2011 Martin, I think you are right. The old Kanji for Chin- or Shizu- or Shige- was slightly different. There was a (Koto) Shigeyasu from Bunshu Bungo 豊州、豊後 around Ooei. Quote
NihontoEurope Posted November 28, 2011 Author Report Posted November 28, 2011 Thx Piers and Ernst. /Martin Quote
