A friend of mine just got this sword in some stuff he purchased from a friend. We have no idea what it is, dates, origin, value or anything. We would like to know any info you pros might have about this thing. The previous owner did the attempt at polishing. Hope the pics are clear enough.

Mass produced wartime blade, not traditionally made, but genuine WW2 sword. Been put into non-military mounts that may or may not be genuine. Could be repro mounts added later.

Value hard to give in this condition. A couple of hundred bucks? Needs a lot of work.
