Please help with translation.

A beginner here. I purchased this sword from a member at the gun club. It's missing the tsuba and has some staining on the blade. I've tried to translate the markings for about 3 hours and now I have a headache. The first character appears to be Jo and I think I identified Kuni (province). Any help with translation or any other information would be greatly appreciated. I include a link to a slide show if you're interested in additional photos. The tang looks old to me, but I don’t know anything!

Stephen is correct. The full mei reads:

"Harima no Kuni Suzuki Gorô´emon no Jô Muneyoshi"

播磨国鈴木五郎右衛門尉宗榮

 

He worked between Kanbun (1661-1673) and Genroku (1688-1704)

in Harima province. Subsequent generations Muneyoshi worked there

until the end of Edo period.
