Thank you so much for helping me. Do you know about how much these swords go for? Its actually my friends sword and his father traded it for a carton of smokes to a Japanese Man during World War II. He has always wondered about this sword but never got around to finding out what this sword was. He is not computer literate, SO I decided to do something nice for him and find out what this sword said and what it might be worth. Could you point me in the direction I need to go? thanks!

Post detailed pictures of it. Condition is always an issue.

Remove the Handle, and take pictures of the signature and any stamps that may be present, as well as the Signature. Shots of the complete blade as well.

You'll get good feedback.

I finally got took some pics. I didnt know what people need to look at so I took a lot. It was hard to get good shots so I used chalk to highlight the markings
