Requesting translation of signature on both sides of tang. I apologize if im using the incorrect terminology. No serial numbers are stamped anywhere. I have more pictures. What a relic! It feels special. I wonder who held it!!??!!

They're arsenal inspection stamps, the top one looks like the "Na" 名 stamp and the lower one is the "Ho" ホ stamp @Bruce Pennington will no doubt be along shortly with more information, also you can have a look at:

Yes, inspesctors of: "NA" of the Nagoya Army Arsenal, and "HO" Kokura Army Arsenal 1st Factory.

The smith worked in Gifu, which was in Nagoya's area of control, but in '41 the Kokura arsenal had supervisory authority over both Nagoya and Tokya arsenals, explaining the Kokura stamp.
