Scogg Posted Wednesday at 06:06 PM Report Posted Wednesday at 06:06 PM Similar nakago to the recent post in the link below, but my attempts to match them failed. Same hot stamp. https://www.militaria.co.za/nmb/topic/55768-help-with-asano-kanezane-nakago-inscription/#comment-583777 Could someone help me please with this translation? It’s for an individual that I do not personally know, and they plan to sell it. -Sam Quote
Conway Posted Wednesday at 06:45 PM Report Posted Wednesday at 06:45 PM Hey Sam, Also Kanezane. Looks like Noshu ju Asano Kanezane saku kore 濃州住浅野兼眞作之 Similar example here (example C): ASANO KANESANE 1 1 Quote
rebcannonshooter Posted Wednesday at 06:55 PM Report Posted Wednesday at 06:55 PM Hi Sam, I own a couple Kanezane, so I've always taken note when I see one of his swords. It looks like "No- Shu Seki (i think) Asano Kanezane Saku Kore. I've seen some odd renditions of Seki, but its somewhat similar to oshigata "E" in Slough's book. But, then again, Conway could be correct, because I also seen some odd "Ju" characters with his swords. Hope this helps, Tom 1 1 Quote

Bruce Pennington Posted Thursday at 02:40 AM Report Posted Thursday at 02:40 AM @Scogg Sam, are those just metal flaws, or dings, near the top or is there a partial stamp up there? Quote
Scogg Posted Thursday at 03:53 AM Author Report Posted Thursday at 03:53 AM @Bruce Pennington Unfortunately this was the best photo I got. I think it might be a partial Showa stamp, but very hard to tell 1 Quote
