Rawa Posted November 6 Report Posted November 6 (edited) Hi. Anyone have info about modern swordsmith Norihide? I attached photos of one long blade. It’s shorter mei. Edited November 6 by Rawa Quote
E_Arroyes Posted November 6 Report Posted November 6 Hi Rawa, The yasurime and the execution of the mei give me the impression that it's not a Japanese sword. It reminds me of the examples of Komonjo swords I've seen online, but I'm no expert. Let's wait and see if someone can shed some light on this. Quote
Brian Posted November 6 Report Posted November 6 Looks like the nakago was scrubbed of anything that was there and a new mei added. Or a Komonjo special. Quote
Geraint Posted November 6 Report Posted November 6 Dear Marcin. Three online examples all show a well shaped nakago. which this does not seem to be, with sujikai yasurime and kurijiri. The mei is cut with a more relaxed and flowing style than this example displays. I suppose it is possible that there is another Norihide.......... All the best. Quote
