We all understand that there are vastly disparate levels of collector in what is, essentially, a very expensive hobby. Some of those will have the obvious advantage of great wealth, either inherited, earned or extorted. However, whether they have class or not is dictated by how they treat those with less wealth. It stands to reason that the richer collectors will have access to - or own - blades which others will never see except, perhaps, in books. Therefore, their knowledge of such pieces is incredibly valuable - should they decide to dispense that knowledge in a generous and non-judgemental manner. Alex A Posted September 13 Report Posted September 13 You would be surprised Dee, not all high end sword buyers are interested in learning much more than the name and date of the swordsmith. An expedition into knowledge was never on the horizon, just ownership. I guess that goes with a lot of sword buyers, not just high end. 2

And whoever suggested there is a financial interest here, you couldn't be more wrong. Not a cent. I watch silly people speculating who someone is, when all they have to do is ask around their own collector community, as he is a well known collector in the UK. Just ask the Token Society. What exactly do you think is being hidden? People simply can't accept that collecting means striving for the best, even if you can't achieve it. Pretty disgusted with the actions of most in this thread, including both sides. Some of you like to collect in a little bubble where everyone agrees with you. This will NOT happen here again. I'll rather lose members than allow stuff like this to bring the forum down and cause me stress. Final warning to everyone here. Both sides of this. 2 3
