Why it invents my pics most of the time grrrr.

 

So all ai needs all writing to be in the correct orientation ??

 

I tried a few phone apps with no success worth mentioning

I haven’t found a lot of AI model’s OCR capabilities sufficient enough to read Mei and provide much meaningful output with the rare exception of very crisply cut dates with high resolution photos. 
 

I’ve tested most of the popular models even trying to roughly translate juyo descriptions and many details are lost in translation. 
 

This may all change weeks or months from now.

It may be possible to "fine tune" an AI with enough text examples and query-response pairs to work as an optimized Japanese translator, but there is still a lot of tricky interpretation that requires extensive experience.
