Yves Posted October 19, 2023 Report Posted October 19, 2023 Would like your opinion on these swords. Quote
David Flynn Posted October 19, 2023 Report Posted October 19, 2023 Are these for sale at Aoi Art? 4 Quote
NewB Posted October 19, 2023 Report Posted October 19, 2023 Hello I like the Yoshimichi line but to me katana is always preferred choice. Truth be told these are not comparable as they are few hundred years apart.. then prices? Papers? Y. Quote
Yves Posted October 20, 2023 Author Report Posted October 20, 2023 Yes they are not from the same era. Intention is to be combined as a set. Wakizashi is rather bulky. Quote
drbvac Posted October 21, 2023 Report Posted October 21, 2023 Tough to create a daisho - the least of which is getting matching fittings - the blades speak for themselves but again - thats the first part. Quote
Yves Posted October 21, 2023 Author Report Posted October 21, 2023 Yes, but not that finding fittings was easy by any means. Alternative would be new swords. Which would then be from the same smith. Then everything would be according to my specs. The main problem with existing daisho's is that their length is too short. Quote
BIG Posted October 22, 2023 Report Posted October 22, 2023 The idea to have swords from the same school/tradition over different time working periodes is IMO a nice collecting goal. We have that on the latest NIHONTO CLUB meeting. http://www.nihonto-c...seiten/berichte.html Best Quote
