katsumoto Posted August 25, 2009 Report Posted August 25, 2009 hello maybe just a bigginers quastion but does your koshiare also sits a bit loose so that the tsuba and seppa`s can move thanks for the help jacob Quote
Gunome Posted August 25, 2009 Report Posted August 25, 2009 Hello, No, koshirae shouldn't move. You could try to repared it carrefully. Sometimes it is just the mekugi which need to be changed. If the loose is more important you can try to change seppa (thicker) or add 2 seppa (always by 2). Someones add leather or paper seppa. Sebastien Quote
katsumoto Posted August 25, 2009 Author Report Posted August 25, 2009 hello sebastien thanks for the help i`ll check the mekugi and let you know do you know a place were they sell old mekugi`s or seppa`s for a fair price cheers jacob Quote
Rich S Posted August 25, 2009 Report Posted August 25, 2009 You can make mekugi from bamboo chopsticks and leather seppa from any old leather, just trace the metal seppa and cut the leather accordingly. Rich S Quote
cspage Posted August 25, 2009 Report Posted August 25, 2009 Also, if the tsuba doesn't quite fit, but close, small snips of sword cleaning paper can be rolled and stuffed to buffer and snug the tsuba fit on the nakago. But the fit has to be close for this to work to any degree. Obviously a temporary fix. Colin Quote
