WTB: Papered Tanto

I am looking for a modestly priced tanto with NBTHK recent papers. Open to all eras.

Can you give folks an idea of what you mean by modestly priced? Having a budget to work with will allow the sellers here to find blades in that range!

Under $1000 preferably

Finding a tanto with a modern set of papers will be a struggle in that price range. But you should be able to find an out-of-polish tanto in that price range. Don't buy a tanto with old papers, you'll likely end up regretting it.

I guess the other bit of information you need to let everyone know (to manage everyones expectations) is, are you looking for a tanto in shirasaya or expect a fully mounted blade in koshirae?  The latter will be a much bigger stretch.

I have a short wakizashi in shirasaya that is mumei, in great polish, but no papers. I would guarantee papers if submitted to shinsa. I have no pics yet, but will take some tonight if interested. Not sure if you are interested since it is a wakizashi and not a tanto, but with it being a short wakizashi and being unokubi-zukuri shape it looks like a tanto. It is priced in your price range.
