EastCoast Posted December 6, 2021 Report Posted December 6, 2021 All, I picked this while up burning up the rest of the exhibit budget. Was surprised it had a mei. Translation assistance would be much appreciated. Best, James Quote

EastCoast Posted December 7, 2021 Author Report Posted December 7, 2021 Piers, Thank you! Do you have a resource I can reference? I may be able to build that into an exhibit. Best, James Quote
Bugyotsuji Posted December 7, 2021 Report Posted December 7, 2021 I agree it is an interesting story. I heard that these, or some of these Echizen Shimosaka smiths were moved down there to support their contingent, so many 1590s examples are not signed 'living in Echizen', as they weren't at that time. As to reference works in English, I am sure someone will be able to help. In the meantime let me check my books. Not much in English here though........... There were also Shimosaka lines in Kyushu hailing originally from Ohmi, or Okazaki, according to the Meikan. Clarification needed here! 1 Quote
