Misconstrued Posted December 3, 2021 Report Posted December 3, 2021 I know a bit about Japanese Swords and I've seen fake swords and their nakagos. This one seems off but doesn’t seem super fake from the ones I’ve seen. Quote
ROKUJURO Posted December 3, 2021 Report Posted December 3, 2021 J.R. Misconstrued (can you please give us your first name as is requested here?), without seeing the rest of the blade, this NAKAGO (there is no plural form in Japanese nouns) looks as fake/non-Japanese as it gets. You will easily see that yourself when you compare with authentic blades. Quote

ROKUJURO Posted December 3, 2021 Report Posted December 3, 2021 J.R. Misconstrued, if you take the HABAKI off, you will probably see that the MACHI (notches on back and cutting edge) do not align. That would then be a safe sign that the blade is not authentic. 1 Quote
