Replaced mikugi also and took some pictures of the inscription on it. Any clue on what is written will be much appreciatted. Thanks in advance. Quote
Geraint Posted December 8, 2020 Report Posted December 8, 2020 Dear Ricardo. It looks like, "Bizen Osafune ju Sukesada saku". All the best. 1 Quote
rick76er Posted December 9, 2020 Author Report Posted December 9, 2020 Thanks for your quick reply, searching and granting my great ignorance, I may translate something like"made in the Bizen Osafune region by Sukesada swordsmith" Is that right? In that case we may be spealing of anl old forge I bleieve. Correct? Apologize for my ignorance again and hope you can turn some light on me. 1 Quote
PNSSHOGUN Posted December 9, 2020 Report Posted December 9, 2020 That's correct, it is an old blade. Now you get to the fun part......trying to find the same smith that made this one! It's quite difficult as there were so many smiths over hundreds of year signing with this same Mei. 1 Quote
vajo Posted December 9, 2020 Report Posted December 9, 2020 Would like to see whats under the habaki and how does the blade looks like. Quote
rick76er Posted December 10, 2020 Author Report Posted December 10, 2020 Thanks to everyone for your appreciatted inputs. To PNSSHOGUN, please keep in touch with your findings, for sure you´re in a much advanced stage than me. I´ll post some pictures of the blade , but its condition is not mint, as it may be expected due to age, suffering from some nicks and slight corrosion which i´m taking care of with dedicated products.
