vajo Posted August 22, 2020 Report Posted August 22, 2020 Famous motif of tamatori fighting an octopus. I like it 👍 This Ama theme "girl and pleasures with octopus" is themed in the movie the untamed. 2 Quote
Tanto54 Posted August 24, 2020 Author Report Posted August 24, 2020 I particularly like the shells holding the kashira on (which appears to be an awabe or abalone). Quote
1kinko Posted August 24, 2020 Report Posted August 24, 2020 Nope, it's a scallop, not abalone. 2 Quote
Tanto54 Posted August 24, 2020 Author Report Posted August 24, 2020 Darrel, the Kashira is an awabe or abalone... 1 Quote
roger dundas Posted August 25, 2020 Report Posted August 25, 2020 It is called a scallop here in southern Australia and scallop dredging as well as abalone fishing are big industries here in our local southern waters as is crayfishing( no lobsters here). All often seen as decoration on Japanese objects as everyone here knows. Roger j Quote
PietroParis Posted August 25, 2020 Report Posted August 25, 2020 I see an abalone (the kashira) AND two scallops. 2 Quote
roger dundas Posted August 25, 2020 Report Posted August 25, 2020 Sorry, I didn't spot the abalone on the kashira. Tricked my old ,not very discerning eyes. Roger j Quote
1kinko Posted August 25, 2020 Report Posted August 25, 2020 Mea Culpa, I was referring to "I particularly like the shells holding the kashira on" and like Rodger, didn't see the abalone. 1 Quote
