Pete Klein Posted October 18, 2008 Report Posted October 18, 2008 If I might be so bold I would like to offer a suggestion to the members interested in fittings. Ginza Choshuya for now has their English translation pages of their Joho magazine open to all. They are a very high end and very expensive store I know BUT they also have very fine examples of fittings which the members here who are not familiar with such can access for their education. I have seen some rather poor examples posted of late and I believe this might help as a reference to what is considered 'a keeper'. http://world.choshuya.co.jp/ click on the magazine in the middle of the page. You can then chose from a number of issues. PS: they have wonderful swords as well. Quote
John A Stuart Posted October 18, 2008 Report Posted October 18, 2008 Thanks Pete, May I mention that this shop has swords and fittings on display that will take your breath away. A museum often has less to see. The bonus is you can see this things in hand. They like to show their pieces over a nice cuppa. Only thing is it is easy to knock thins about if your big; a tall narrow shop, but, jam packed. John Quote
