Nikanoru Posted July 21, 2019 Report Posted July 21, 2019 Nice set. Very well executed. I would suggest Ishiguro or Tanaka/Tōryūsai. 1 Quote
TETSUGENDO Posted July 21, 2019 Report Posted July 21, 2019 School ofTanaka Toryusai, never. Ichiguro, improbable. These appear to be late, mediocre work. Perhaps I'm missing something here, please, enlighten me. I'd love to see some exemplars that support your attributions. -S- Quote
Nikanoru Posted July 21, 2019 Report Posted July 21, 2019 Sure, here you are Tōryūsai Ishiguro (not Ichiguro) Or some independent artist like this for example, Yokotani I would love to hear your ideas. Quote
TETSUGENDO Posted July 21, 2019 Report Posted July 21, 2019 If these are not papered or otherwise attested to from a reliable source, they are meaningless. What are the particulars, BTW, your third example has been recently 'refurbished', just look at that slovenly re-gilding work. Some independent artist is much more likely, but you didn't initially say that. A lot of these things are simply late Mito works. -S- 2 Quote
Nikanoru Posted July 21, 2019 Report Posted July 21, 2019 Papered, don’t worry, Steven. Everyone on the board knows you believe only in papers Not everything that is not simply attributed is Mito Quote
TETSUGENDO Posted July 21, 2019 Report Posted July 21, 2019 Alex, I couldn't care less about papers, anyone on the board who has personally corresponded with me knows I don't personally feel a need for them. But, as we live in a time where the marketplace overwhelmingly demands them , I reccomend them to anyone considering a large purchase. Also, when someone makes a rather unusual attribution, they should be prepared to produce reasonable verification. And yes, no not everything is Mito, but they did produce an enormous volume of works in innumerable styles. No reason to drop civility because you find yourself with your knickers down. Perhaps, you misspoke, or suffered some momentary confusion......we ALL make mistakes, no reason for rudeness. -S- p.s.-In the future, keep your condescending emoji to yourself. 1 Quote
Nikanoru Posted July 21, 2019 Report Posted July 21, 2019 Dear Steven, please provide at least one evidence, visual, enough words, in support of your Mito statement. “These things” is a little bit vague, if you allow. Otherwise, “bye bye, _____ [insert the name]” © Ford Hallam Quote
TETSUGENDO Posted July 21, 2019 Report Posted July 21, 2019 One valuable thing I learned over the years...to decline playing 'Table tennis/ping-pong' with fools. With your attitude, you'll soon find playmates hard to come by. Fini, -S- 2 Quote
Brian Posted July 21, 2019 Report Posted July 21, 2019 Warning to all of you. This is not verbal ping-pong. Don't make me force some time off to chill out. 2 Quote
TETSUGENDO Posted July 21, 2019 Report Posted July 21, 2019 Brian, No further response from me, if you'll notice I've ended it. -S- Quote
TheGermanBastard Posted July 26, 2019 Author Report Posted July 26, 2019 Nice set. Very well executed. I would suggest Ishiguro or Tanaka/Tōryūsai. Thank you for your comments and thoughts Quote
