sabiji Posted August 7, 2008 Report Posted August 7, 2008 No, i will not buy this sword, but i wonder why masked the Seller the Hozon Kanteisho Number, the Dated, and by the Japanese date (Heisei 18, month 3) the Day? http://cgi.ebay.com/K-047-Muromachi-Kat ... 0262882566 Quote
Rickisan Posted August 7, 2008 Report Posted August 7, 2008 I read somewhere that some of the "bad guys" might copy a picture of someones papers to use on a fake auction. Rick Quote
sabiji Posted August 7, 2008 Author Report Posted August 7, 2008 However that may be, "Bad Guys" can copy pictures, also from the papers from the Homepage http://www.js-musashi.com from this Seller. :D Quote
Brian Posted August 8, 2008 Report Posted August 8, 2008 I don't think he intends any deception. Probably to prevent coping the pics as mentioned, or to retain some degree of privacy since anyone with access can look up the details of that certificate. Yes, the papers can be copied from the website, but eBay is an easier venue to gather pics from and more public. Anyways, not a huge issue, I am sure the buyer could request the original pics.
