Navymate Posted April 12, 2018 Report Posted April 12, 2018 Newbie here and I am having a difficult time translating the Mei. From the research I’ve been able to do I’ve come up with March 1945 for the date. This is my first attempt at any type of translation so I may be incorrect. I believe it has a “Gifu stamp” as well. The signature is really giving me a difficult time. Would one of you fine folks be able to help me out? The last picture is of a mark or scratch that I don’t think is a stamp but wanted to have more experienced people look at it to verify. This is my first time being able to examine a real Japanese sword, and yes I know it’s a late War time production, but it’s still very interesting to me. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Quote
