Mark C Posted March 11, 2018 Report Posted March 11, 2018 Hi Everyone, Had this sarute kicking around for years and would like you opinions if I may. I've always dismissed it as wrong, made of steel and very thin (uniform 4.5mm wide) compaired to other gunto sarute I have. All the best Mark Quote
Shamsy Posted March 11, 2018 Report Posted March 11, 2018 Could be special order. Steel versions of fittings are not unheard of. Whatever it's resting on, I thought it looked like a severed finger from the thumbnail. Quote
Mark C Posted March 11, 2018 Author Report Posted March 11, 2018 Don't worry, No fingers were harmed in the taking of this picture :-) It's a piece of horn. All the best Mark 1 Quote
IJASWORDS Posted March 11, 2018 Report Posted March 11, 2018 Mark, sarutes come in a variety of shapes, designs and materials. Attached photos of a couple I have that match your design, and one is in steel. These are both on good blades, so I would not think there is any cost saving issues back when the outfits were made. 1 Quote
