Hello everyone. A friend of mine has a sword that his father brought back from Japan at the end of WW2. It has been very neglected over the years and is just now becoming of interest to him. I am hoping that someone can help us both out with this one. I see that it has what I believe is a Shoa stamp but I can’t read the Smith. To me it looks like the blade may be stainless? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. MikeR

Tempted to say it is a rikugun smith called Komori Katsuyuki (小森勝幸).

However, the second kanji looks nothing like 森 (and the yuki looks a bit funky, but I can live with it).
