Michaelr Posted February 4, 2018 Report Posted February 4, 2018 Hello everyone. A friend of mine has a sword that his father brought back from Japan at the end of WW2. It has been very neglected over the years and is just now becoming of interest to him. I am hoping that someone can help us both out with this one. I see that it has what I believe is a Shoa stamp but I can’t read the Smith. To me it looks like the blade may be stainless? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. MikeR Quote
SteveM Posted February 5, 2018 Report Posted February 5, 2018 Tempted to say it is a rikugun smith called Komori Katsuyuki (小森勝幸). However, the second kanji looks nothing like 森 (and the yuki looks a bit funky, but I can live with it). 2 Quote
