Stephen Posted January 20, 2018 Author Report Posted January 20, 2018 Thanks Eric i gleamed that from Yahoo translation...anything else you can read on sayagaki? I guess im the only one impressed by the blade...maybe the wrong hada for everyone. Quote
Surfson Posted January 20, 2018 Report Posted January 20, 2018 Very interesting and attractive sword. Has what appears to be Honami papers as well as a Kanzan Sato sayagaki. Would love to see modern NBTHK papers, but that's just me. Quote
Stephen Posted January 20, 2018 Author Report Posted January 20, 2018 Thanks Buddy thought the same. Quote

Surfson Posted January 21, 2018 Report Posted January 21, 2018 Sounds fair, now it's time to submit to NBTHK and start biting nails. If it papers, that's a very happy day. Quote

Surfson Posted January 21, 2018 Report Posted January 21, 2018 No, I didn't buy it. i would not have bought it at that price based only on the purported honami papers (that I can't read well and are sometimes faked) and the Kanzan Sato sayagaki (which apparently became less reliable as he aged....). Now if it had been much cheaper, I might have taken a flyer on it. Quote
TheGermanBastard Posted January 21, 2018 Report Posted January 21, 2018 I see .. because quite franky I do not see why anybody would have paid a high price for this blade without recent papers. Don't get me wrong. A qualiyt blade without any doubt ... BUT if it comes out of Japan from a guy who is not a dummy on swords and it has NO recent papers then it is has a 99.9% chance of being no good for what ever signature it may have Quote
