Question About Mumei Wakizashi

Hello guys,

I have a few questions about wakizashi to which I have an interest. The wakizashi is mumei with NBTHK Hozon attest to Takada school in middle Muramachi. In this particular blade i really like the hada and hamon. I know your opinion about mumei wakizashi, but this don't look like most junk mumei wakizashi on ebay and have NBTHK paper. My first question for nakago on the scan files it's seems to have some damages, what you think about them?  My second question is that on the pictures of NBTHK papers under the hamachi it seems to have crack, which does not appear on the scan files? And what is your overall opinion about this blade? 

Please do not discuss Aoi, but only the blade because I do not want misunderstandings.

Hello Blagoy.

 

It is a nice sword and i didn't see any serious damage.

The scan file is not x-ray. I was interested in a sword on AOI and thought it has hagire. I ask Mr. Tsuruta before buying and he said that there is nothing 100% sure. I wait for the sword now to proof this 

 

I see what you mean on the Hozon paper.

 

Ask him, this is the best you can do.

I am seeing a large kitae-ware in both the paper and the scan. No 'cracks' per se (no hagire).

1. these things should have been corrected by the polisher.

 

2. crack, if that's what it is, is there on scanned file, click on 2nd file to expand/zoom in, easily seen.

 

3. My thinking is that with the Bungo Takada smiths known for being quite adept at copying other schools, we're seeing a blade that someone's wishful thinking may have been hoping for a main school attribution. Requiring thought as to why it isn't.

Thank you guys for your thoughts. I will ask Mr.Tsuruta for this one and will consider what to do. Looking for my first nihonto and don't want to get burn!
